A Product Of Love & Faith
Mamas&Papas|February 2019

While many wait to see what cupid has in store for them this lover’s month, mom-to-be, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene-Mthethwa is patiently waiting for the arrival of the most precious gift of all

A Product Of Love & Faith
The Ntandoyenkosi Kunene- Mthethwa you love in front of flashing lights and wardrobe changes for runway struts, is no different from the one you meet any other day. What you get on reel life is what you get in real life with this expecting mama. Like many who are busy getting into grips with this ‘adulting’ thing, Ntando admits that she misses her childhood days of not having to worry about mounting bills, and thinking you could be anything you want in a limitless world where it’s even possible to fly. With the cover shoot over, the festive season was not about to keep us from finding out more about the life not many are privy to.

WHAT IS THE GREATEST LESSON YOU LEARNED GROWING UP?

I’ve learnt to enjoy each and every phase of my life and that nothing is perfect but when you have a supportive family on your side, you have everything.

THINKING OF THE HOME YOU GREW UP IN, HOW DIFFERENT IS IT FROM THE ONE YOU LIVE IN NOW?

Well, in my home there is only my husband and I. While at my parents home it was a house filled with kids that always kept my parents busy. So at the moment they are very different but I do hope that one day my kids and I will have the same relationship I had with my parents.

IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING IN YOUR CHILDHOOD, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE IT?

As cliché as this sounds, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Each and every part of it has made me the person I am today, the good and the bad.

WHO DID YOU LOOK UP TO WHEN YOU WERE GROWING UP?

My parents have been the greatest inspiration. From their love to the success they have made of their lives and how they positively impacted the environment they were in.

AS YOU PREPARE FOR THIS NEW CHAPTER IN YOUR LIFE, DO YOU SEE YOURSELF USING THE SAME PARENTING STYLE AS YOUR MOTHER?
