On our screens we always see her celebrating the ultimate union between man and woman, this time around though, KAYISE NGQULA is celebrating the most precious union of all, the one between mother and child

Her Perfect Pregnancy

Before officially becoming the face of Our Perfect Wedding, many became familiar with Kayise Ngqula during the OPW presenter search. Her bubbly personality shined through, and not long after that, she stole the hearts of not only the judges but the whole of Mzansi as well. While watching the show many had their suspicions, that was until an Instagram snap set the record straight, Kayise was really expecting, and Mamas & Papas got a chance to sit down with her to talk not just about the most anticipated arrival but also about her life away from our screens.

GROWING INTO A STRONG WOMAN

Q. Tell us about life growing up and how it shaped you into the woman that you are today?

I grew up in a family of three children, me being the oldest. Our single, strong and very independent mother raised us and strived to do her best while loving us unconditionally. I’d like to believe that seeing her being that kind of woman definitely shaped how I foresaw myself making a mark in the world in my adult life. Being the eldest, I also took on a lot of the responsibility of being a family head quite earlier on in my life, and I continue to do so even today. I kind of had to grow up very quickly, and that at times was difficult but it taught me the greatest lesson of all, to be selfless.

Q. What do you miss most about your childhood?

Honestly, not worrying about bills! I’m kidding. I miss being able to laugh wholeheartedly. Being able to speak my mind without fear. I miss the joy of being one with my heart and mind and not ever having to worry if I had made the right decision about things. I miss the very innocence that requires no prerequisite of any expectation in return.

Q. Looking at the life you’re living now, what would you like to tell 16 year-old you?
