It’s often said that people don’t remember what you said or did, but they will always remember how you made them feel. When you think about this statement, you will quickly realize that you have power and influence in each of your interactions with other people.
Whether it is an official or personal conversation, if you are conscious about what you say and how you deliver the message you will have the power to make a great connection. For example, you have the power to contribute something meaningful but you also have the power to be hurt others. But you can learn to use your power for good and speak gently to get what you want.
Here are a few methods to do that
Speak Thoughtfully – Even if your exact words may not be remembered years later always choose them carefully. There is a saying, ‘you are only as good as your word’. Always remember this statement and learn to speak good words, even if you are upset or angry about something. This will make the situation better than get into an argument and make the situation worse.
Speak Kindly – It’s not necessary to use rough and tough sentences to make your point or teach discipline to others. Even with kind words, you can make your point, you can be direct, and you can make your point. Being kind will show that you care, regardless of the message. By using kind words you can change how someone feels about themselves or a situation.
