Lundon Buoyed By New Opportunity

Paul McNamara
Lundon Buoyed By New Opportunity

Sean, you were recently appointed as the full-time Head of Coaching in the Everton Academy. What does your job involve?

I’m Head of Coaching from the ages of 18 downwards, so I work closely with David Unsworth, who is Director of Coaching in the Academy as well as the Under-23s coach, and Joel Waldron, the Academy Manager, plus Richard Battle, the Head of Academy Performance. We all bring different experiences to create a strong team.

NAME: Sean Lundon

POSITION: Head Of Coaching

DATE OF BIRTH: 7 March 1959

PLACE OF BIRTH: Liverpool

PLAYING CAREER: Chester City (1985-1992)

My job is to oversee the day-to-day coaching within the Academy and also be involved in the planning of the curriculum to ensure we are delivering what we say we are delivering.

It’s my role to make sure everyone in the Academy is singing off the same hymn sheet. It’s also my responsibility to make sure that right the way down to the development centres and pre-Academy we are all working towards the same goal.
