Unsworth's Pride After Winning Coaching Accolade
Everton Magazine|December 2017-18

David Unsworth paid tribute to “everyone at Everton” after winning the prestigious Talent Development Coach of the Year prize at the 2017 UK Coaching Awards.

Unsworth's Pride After Winning Coaching Accolade

The Goodison favourite was a proud recipient of the accolade at a ceremony at the end of November, 24 hours after steering Everton to a 4-0 victory over West Ham United in his final fixture in temporary charge of the first team.

Unsworth was recognised for his outstanding contribution with the Club’s Under-23s side, who he coached and mentored to the Premier League 2 title in 2016/17.

Recently, Unsworth also took up the position of director of coaching in the Everton Academy.

“I’m absolutely thrilled,” he said. “It’s such a privilege to be invited and to be on the shortlist, and so to win is just incredible. It’s a great honour and I thank everybody for that support.
