What’s keeping you busy these days?

It’s been a hectic time! We have just finished the post production on our short film Chhuri—Finely Chopped, that is out in a few weeks. And we are just finishing the screenplay of our first feature film Dilliwale Bhatias...while travelling with The Hungry as it went to several festivals like TIFF (the Toronto International Film Festival) and MAMI (Mumbai Academy Of Moving Images) etc. Dilliwale Bhatias is nearly done so we will begin filming that next. We are producing that and that work will begin soon! I’m also starting to shoot a new feature film in January. There’s two films ready for release—The Bioscopewala and 3Dev... so 2018 is going to be a good year!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

It’s a toss up between New York and Bir (in Himachal Pradesh). Ideally I’d like to live in both places. NYC in the summer and Bir in the winter. I was born in Kasauli in Himachal and I grew up in the mountains. The smell of pine trees, quiet walks up unknown mountain paths and sitting by gushing mountain streams is my idea of heaven. But the artist in me loves the energy of New York—the theatre scene, the art exhibitions and music at The Village is just what ones needs to fire one’s imagination.

What’s the biggest misconception about the movie business?
