NEED TO KNOW
- 29er trail bike with alloy frame and 150mm travel front and rear
- Revised geometry, including flip-chip, and sizing to bring it into 2021
- Top-end RockShox suspension on this Limited Edition build
- Burly enduro wheels and tyres, and blinging SRAM AXS drivetrain
- Drop down the range and Focus delivers great value with the Jam 6.8 at £2,499
The new Jam is miles sweeter than the old bike it replaces, with much improved geometry and great prices throughout the range. Focus has really thought hard about the process of evolving the Jam into a competitive and modern trail bike, and although it has got some bits wildly wrong, it has mostly got it right.
The old Jam was starting to look a little mouldy round the edges by the time Focus came to rejig it for this latest compote, with a steep 67° head angle and small sizing. The new Jam is fresh and zingy, with a relaxed 64.6° head angle in its low setting and a reach measurement of 475mm on this size large. Yes, that’s right, there’s now a flipchip mounted on the shock extension that lets you modify the head angle by half a degree. My guess is that most riders will just pop it into the low setting and have done with it, I certainly did.

CANNONDALE MOTERRA NEO CARBON 2
It’s got more suspension tunes than a Hitchcock movie, but will this Moterra thrill us or chill us?
100% GLENDALE GLASSES
When it comes to eyewear, having a large lens not only offers a lot more protection from trail splatter, it puts the frames further out from your field of view, allowing you to focus on the terrain in front of you. The Glendale is absolutely vast, and actually has a lens size akin to a full downhill goggle, so you literally can’t see the top or sides of the frame.
DMR STAGE 2 MTB RAIL SADDLE
DMR's new Stage 2 MTB Rail is one of those new/old products. The shape and construction are identical to the existing Oi Oi saddle, but the company has wrapped it in a new skin and added some harder-wearing reinforcement to the edges. It's also toned down the lairy graphics; this saddle only comes in plain black.
