Severance

For fans of the ‘70s, dystopian vibes will instantly fall in love with this intense thriller set around the idea of work-life balance. Set at Lumon Industries, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team of employees who have surgically divided their memories from work and real life thanks to the severance procedure. When new employee Helly (Britt Lower) rejects her new life as an indentured office drone, the true nature of their work begins to get called into question. Their efforts to find out who they are and what it is they do from nine to five lead to a mystery full of thrilling reveals and plot twists. Severance is a unique look at a very relevant topic, but goes deeper and explores human emotions, what it truly means to be alive and the desperate need all of us have for some form of human interaction. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions that will leave you shouting for more when the season ends. Severance has a tremendous cast as well that includes Patricia Arquette, John Turturro, and Christopher Walken, with directors Ben Stiller and Aoife McArdle combining their vision into creating arguably one of the most stylized and best looking shows of the last few years.
