GENERATION MUTE'S RINGTONE TURN-OFF

HAVING a phone ringtone is officially a sign you’re getting old.

They are now only used by the elderly and middle-aged, with experts saying a ringing mobile will soon be a thing of the past.

Not having the handset on silent is seen as a social “faux pas”, and app downloads for ringtones in the UK have slumped by nearly a quarter in the past few years.
