Times are pretty strange for all of us right now, and never more have we all needed that extra bit of oomph to get us up and out and moving around. With the weather getting nicer and no restrictions on how much time we can spend outdoors, this is the perfect opportunity to get the body stretched, active and limbered up.
Whether you’re a fitness pro or can’t even remember where you’ve put your trainers, we’ve got moves for everyone that’ll help shake the cobwebs off and get the endorphins flowing so you’ll finish the day grinning from ear to ear.
So dust off the sweatbands, get the family involved and try these simple workouts…
GET APP-Y ‘
Integrate your exercise with technology,’ says Tailor Made Fitness owner Chris Antoni (tailormadefitness.co.uk). ‘Perhaps use a fitness app to challenge yourself. I’m a big fan of the Couch To 5K. It’s a simple workable plan that will get you running 5K in just nine weeks. You can also choose a celebrity coach who will encourage you along the way – Michael Johnson is my personal favourite!’
WALK AND TALK
‘Take a socially-distanced walk with a pal,’ adds Chris. ‘It’s a proven fact that you enjoy exercise more when you share it with someone. Sometimes walking is overlooked as a form of exercise. But walking briskly can help build up stamina and make your heart healthy.’
