In following a game as successful as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls didn’t have an easy job. Heavy Rain established a type of choice-based game unparalleled in scope, even when compared to the work of studios such as Bioware or Telltale. For its next title, Quantic Dream went bigger and bolder, but reduced the game elements even further, a decision that results in an oddly bland experience.
