Welshman shows he’s back to his best ahead of the Tour of Flanders.
After six starts, Sunday’s Tour of Flanders could finally be Sky stalwart Luke Rowe’s best chance of a breakthrough cobbled Classic result, judging by his performance at GhentWevelgem on Sunday.
Rowe looked back to his best after an uncharacteristic and “disappointing” day for him at E3 BinckBank last Friday where he missed the key move. At GhentWevelgem he spent the day in the break, then later bridged a 49-second gap to the group of favourites and attacked twice in the final 20km. He said he could now be “excited” about Flanders on Sunday.
