Tanfield Set For World Champs Ride After Blistering Pursuit

Fourth fastest individual time in history secures one of two Track World Cup golds.

Team KGF rider Charlie Tanfield all but booked his place on the British squad for the Track World Championships next month with a stunning ride in the individual pursuit at the Track Cycling World Cup in Minsk, Belarus, on Saturday.

The 4:12.253 ride was the fourth fastest time in history behind world record holder Jack Bobridge, Chris Boardman (who rode in the superman position) and Australian Jordan Kerby.

“It’s absolutely mega and the weekend couldn’t have gone any better to be honest,” the Team KGF rider said. “If I broke the world record it would have been perfect but you can’t be greedy, so I’ll settle for a 4:12.”
