Kelly Murphy on dominant form in Dorset
Defending champion Kelly Murphy made a perfect start to her title defence in the Sigma Sports Classic Time Trial Series, while espoir Adam Wild (GS Metro) survived an early unshipped chain to take victory in the men’s event in Dorset on Sunday.
Murphy, 29 and riding for Storey Racing, battled through strong winds and heavy traffic to take the win in the Wessex Road Club event. She clocked 58-04 to win by 31 seconds from veteran Angela Carpenter, the a3crg rider who had beaten Murphy into second by more than a minute in last year’s second round.
