The euphoria over a first cricketer-administrator has sunk quickly after the telling presence of N. Srinivasan as the special invitee of the BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly and his brash rubbing against the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC). Here is why there is very concern that this is the BCCI of old, Ganguly notwithstanding.

After the fiasco of betting and fixing that supposedly brought the BCCI administrators to earth following the Supreme Court intervention and the Lodha Committee report, the handover back from the CoA to the BCCI was supposed to be a celebratory event, with former Indian captain, Ganguly, elected unopposed as the first BCCI president after the two year administrative hiatus, albeit imposed. Yet the only thing brought down was the sobering fact that despite the obvious change at the helm, the trickle-down effect is another matter altogether.
