Do the Rules still apply when the body is no longer willing? Frank Strack considers the cycle of life
Dear Frank, As a cyclist of advancing years, I find it harder and harder to ride with my stem slammed – as per Rule #45. I want to look pro, but don’t want to end up in traction. What do you suggest? Hugh, Warwickshire
Dear Hugh, Advancing years? Interesting concept. What diabolical agenda are these years of yours advancing? The sale of more under-the stem spacers?
I jest. I understand that your irregular use of the English language (something you Brits usually frown upon, I’m told) implies that you are getting older and that as a result of this your handlebars have an insatiable appetite for spacers.
