Interview with Chris Mccormack
Two-time winner of the Ironman World Championship and 1997 Triathlon World Champion now lends his expertise to the Super League Triathlon series that he helped create.
When was the idea for the Super League Triathlon born?
The idea came to me after I retired from racing. I was having a look back at the best racing I had ever done in my career with the Ironman and Olympic stuff and realized that I had a lot of fun at the short, dynamic races I did as a junior. In Australia that really grew the sport because it was always televised. So, I was talking to my business partner Michael Dhulst about it, and it took us about three years to come up with a plan.
