Sticking ballet into a workout is harder on the muscles than it looks.
Putting a ballet-inspired training routine together is more than just about tip toeing around. Designed to build both a strong core and enhance flexibility, it’s also an alternate form of cardiovascular exercise.
THE PLACE
Instructor and co-founder of WeBarre, Anabel Chew actually has a background as a school cross-country runner. She says, “From my own experience, I found that it’s better to have some other exercises in your kit because if you just do one form of exercise, you can become a little imbalanced. I discovered barre when I went to New York for a summer exchange program and I got hooked!”
Formerly a professional musician, Anabel took her passion for barre and jumped into opening a boutique barre studio with her business partner and fellow instructor Linda a few years ago in Singapore.
There are now three WeBarre studios in Singapore to cater for the growing needs of the customers, and enthusiasts come from all walks of life, and different age groups.
