ASCOT November 23 (soft) 3
3m novice handicap chase (Class 3) SMART FORM HIGHEST SUN (Colin Tizzard) is a stronger horse this term and travelled like a dream before being outpaced by Pym (impressive winner since) between the last two. His jumping is improving and he’s a horse to mark down for a big handicap at one of the festival meetings this spring.
2m national hunt flat (Class 4)
DECENT CONTEST BRAVEMANSGAME (Paul Nicholls) grabbed the eye throughout the prelims and ran a nailer to finish third after being tapped for toe at a vital stage. He’s from a powerful yard and there’s every chance he’ll develop into a classy novice hurdler.
KEMPTON November 25 (good-soft)
2m novice hurdle (Class 4) RACE THAT WILL PRODUCE WINNERS RAVEN COURT (Philip Hobbs) has a lofty reputation and looks every inch a chaser in the making. He was given plenty to do by Richard Johnson but clicked into gear from the second last and roared home to finish third. He’s a smart performer in the making and must be followed.
MADIBA PASSION (Alan King) is a good-looking gelding who did well to finish fourth after taking a grip for the first half of the race. He’ll stay further than this and is more than capable of winning decent races when the penny drops.
2m2f beginners chase (Class 4)
HIGH CLASS WINNER MASTER TOMMYTUCKER (Paul Nicholls) was pretty fit after a 13month break and put up a tremendous effort to beat the race-sharp Who Dares Wins. Harry Cobden was extremely positive about the winner’s future – he feels he could be a Grade 1 performer - and Cheltenham’s JLT Novice Chase has been mooted as a long-term target. Follow him closely.
