Loan Rangers

Whilst the January transfer window may not have been as busy as fans had expected or wanted, Rangers approached the period with a focused list of targets designed to strengthen a beleaguered midfield and provide longterm goal-keeping cover.

Loan Rangers

By the 9th of January, Rangers had welcomed Emerson Hyndman to the team and it did not take long for the loan signing from Bournemouth to make a sparkling impact on the team. During a tense Scottish Cup game against Motherwell, Hyndman glided the ball to Kenny Miller’s feet in the dying embers of the game to create a sensational winning goal that lifted the roof off Ibrox and created our passage into the next stage of the tournament. Poise and immaculate passing have been the defining features of the youngster’s play so far and he followed his strong debut with a goal and a Man of the Match performance against Motherwell in the following week’s league game. Hyndman’s style and confidence to take a shot was then showcased again four days later with a powerful strike against Hearts at Tynecastle – one of the only highlights in a miserable game that has led to concerns regarding our ability and mental strength to achieve second place this season. Hyndman’s desire to make an instant impression on the team has been evident in his drive to complete additional training at Auchenhowie and many commented that his post-match interview following the game at Fir Park displayed a sense of maturity that seems beyond his 20 years.
