Dynaudio has been cooking with gas with its active Xeo series, the Emit M10 bookshelves and, probably best of all, these Emit M20s.
The speakers sport a satin lacquer (available in either white or black) and a driver-dominated baffle that, thanks to a symmetrical smattering of screws bordering the drivers, looks as though it has been used as target practice. In essence, then, the M20s could be seen as beefy and business-like on the outside, but friendly on the inside.
As is the Dynaudio way, drivers have been designed specifically for each Emit model, with the M20 featuring a 28mm soft-dome tweeter and 17cm magnesium silicate polymer mid/bass driver.
Authority and scale
That pretty sizable mid/bass driver goes a long way to explaining these speakers' ability when it comes to authority, scale, dynamics and bass depth. That is, after all, what you should expect from a larger stand mounter. It’s why the KEF Q350s can make similar claims. More importantly though, that hasn’t come at the expense of musicality and agility along the way.
