With a name that literally translates into ‘looks good’ in Spanish, Mirabella, this elegant restaurant does not fail to deliver.
Mirabella - An Unforgettable Experience
Luxuriously spacious and beautifully designed with greenhouse décor as inspiration, Mirabella is the latest entrant to Mumbai’s ever thriving food scene. Boasting of a huge outdoor seating area (smoking allowed), a closed section with a bar and a separate dance floor, the restaurant is a welcome change in a city that is otherwise known for its cramped spaces.
The elaborate menu displays exotic cocktails, international delicacies and some mouth- watering desserts, but we decide to start our culinary adventure with the recommendations put forth by Sudeep, the manager at Mirabella. He promptly suggests the Mutton Gulouti Slider, and rightfully so, given how tender, juicy and delicious it is. Next in line is the aromatic Mandeli Fish and Chips which is served on a bed of fries and is accompanied with a tangy raw mango chutney. Out of curiosity we decide to try the Cheese Garlic Naan and are taken aback by its subtlety. Thankfully, there’s only a hint of garlic and even the cheese does not overpower the bread, which is neither too soft nor too crisp.
For the mains, we zero in on the tandoori chicken with cous cous and Madras curry followed by Roasted Chicken with Jerk Sauce. The eclectic combination of tandoori chicken, coconut curry and the almond and apricot cous cous is an absolute original and worth a try. Stealing our hearts and the show, however, is the Roasted Chicken with Jerk Sauce, which is served on a bed of mash and is accompanied by grilled vegetables. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it is also very palatable.
