What makes your line of activewear unique?
It’s good quality, it’s stylish, it’s comfortable – and it’s manufactured in the foothills of the Drakensberg.
Beautiful activewear can motivate you to be more active – do you agree?
That’s partly why I started making my own activewear. When you look good, you feel good. Gyms are full of mirrors – when you look at yourself, you want to feel confident.
Any favourite jewellery pieces?
I’m not really a jewellery person, but I have two pieces that I wear a lot: a green and gold ring and a gold pendant necklace. I saw the ring at a second-hand shop, and the colours just spoke to me: green and gold. The gold, obviously, for majesty, for kings and queens. And green for life. The necklace has a spider on it, which also reminds me of nature. I’m a spiritual person; I think that comes from my climbing and being out in nature. Other than that I have a Suunto 7 sports watch that I wear all the time.
Any specific shop that you gravitate towards?
I make most of my own activewear and corporate wear because I’ve got the factory at my disposal, but before that Woolies was my go-to shop.
I can’t resist buying…
A white T-shirt or a white shirt. Woolies makes great basic tees and I have found the best button-down shirts at H&M. I normally buy an extra-small or a small in the men’s section; I prefer the cut of the men’s shirts.
What are the best shoes for climbing?
