Generations actress says it’s time men stop gender-based violence
EVEN though her star is soaring, media personality, Thando Thabethe (26), has not turned a blind eye on issues affecting women. Known for playing Nolwazi on Generations – The Legacy, the actress is taking a stand against gender-based violence with her campaign.
A STAND AGAINST ABUSE In 2015, Thando broke the internet when she started the Make It Stop Campaign, which featured female celebrities sporting bruises as they take a stand against women abuse.
“It’s a matter close to my heart and as a media personality, I felt I could add a voice,” she says.
The reason gender-based violence is very close to her heart could be that Thando witnessed abuse in her childhood. She once revealed in an interview that her father was abusive towards her mother.
