UPCYCLED POTS

Fill cracked or old crockery with flowers and herbs as an alternative to your regular old plant pots. It'll make use of broken tableware that would either go in the bin or get forgotten about at the back of the cupboard.

MAKE A HERB PLANTER

Tip up a wooden pallet (free from most industrial parks or supermarkets) to sit against a wall and slot potted herb plants inside the slats to use them like shelves. To plant directly, line each slat with weed membrane to contain the soil, then paint and label.

PAVE THE WAY

Use salvaged bricks to create an inexpensive pathway, perfect for defining a border or making a clear path to a focal point of your garden, like a seating area or display for pretty potted plants.

TAKE A SEAT

When friends and family convene for a seasonal get-together, there's always the chance that you'll run out of chairs. Improvise extra seating by using old oil drums, large logs, or even a stack of old tyres picked up for a couple of pounds on Facebook Marketplace or Gumtree. Just be sure to pretty them up a bit with paint and cushions before your guests come over!
