When Eamonn Holmes bravely dug his claws into his old employer, many were wondering what this could mean for his wife Ruth Langsford and her future at ITV towers.
In the interview, Eamonn, who now fronts the GB News breakfast show, accused the channel of being sly, by suggesting that he walked away, when in fact he was fired. He also blasted ITV golden boy Phillip Schofield calling him ‘passive-aggressive’. A ballsy move few broadcasters would consider.
But now Eamonn’s outspoken stance has led to speculation that Ruth is herself getting ready to flee the ITV nest. Eamonn has always been there to support and nurture his wife’s thriving career, but perhaps there is a feeling now that the lovable duo are ready to tackle something new together. After all, the appeal of their double act extends beyond ITV – their Channel 5 show, Eamonn & Ruth: How the Other Half Lives, was a ratings hit, before filming stopped just before the pandemic in 2019.
