Working as a registered nurse advising women with gestational diabetes how to lose weight, Tamara Macdonald always felt like a fraud. Tipping the scales at 115kg, the 22-year-old knew she needed to make a change.
“Telling mums to lose weight when I was overweight myself... I felt like a huge hypocrite,” Tamara tells Woman’s Day from her home in Camden, New South Wales.
Ten years later, the 36-year-old is half the woman she used to be, losing an amazing 50kg. A flyer offering free fitness assessments was the push Tamara needed to take control of her life and her weight.
