Oops, she’s doing it again! Just when it looked like Britney Spears was finally back in top form, it seems the pop princess is heading for another meltdown.

Ten years after the “Toxic” events of 2007 – when she shaved her head and attacked a photographer with an umbrella before being taken into psychiatric treatment – those closest to the superstar singer fear a return to her darkest days.

“Britney seems to be falling apart all over again,” reveals a longtime friend, speaking exclusively to Woman’s Day. “There’s a real worry that she’s teetering on the brink. Everything is piling up on her and it’s almost as if she is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. We’re praying and keeping our fingers crossed, but it might take a lot more than that.”

The first sign of trouble came when the 35-year-old mum-of-two recently asked her father Jamie – who, as her conservator for the past decade, still legally controls all aspects of his eldest daughter’s life – for permission to marry her toyboy lover Sam Asghari.

When Jamie said no, citing the fact Britney and Iranianborn fitness model Sam, 23, have only been dating since November, the “Hold it Against Me” singer had an epic tantrum.
