Tears & Fears At 50: Nicole's Birthday Breakdown

 Why her milestone is tinged with sadness

With a beautiful family, loving husband and stellar movie career, Oscarwinning actress Nicole Kidman appears to have it all as she approaches her 50th birthday next month.

But Woman’s Day can reveal that the Aussie star, who lives in Tennessee with Kiwi-born country singer Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday, eight, and Faith, six, is facing the milestone with dread.

Nicole – who is also mum to adopted children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, from her marriage to Tom Cruise – has made no secret of her desire for another child, but her looming birthday has led her to realise the dream is unlikely to become a reality.

“Nicole has always clung on to the hope that one more baby might be in her future,” a source close to the Lion actress tells Woman’s Day. “But as she says goodbye to her 40s, she’s having to face the fact that becoming pregnant is incredibly unlikely – and it’s breaking her heart.”

Just last year, Nicole admitted publicly that she was holding out for one more child. “In everything that has happened in my life, being a mother has been the overriding thing that has changed everything and made it better,” she said.
