Lynda Carter still has the iconic bullet-blocking bracelets and the lasso of truth that helped make her the highest-paid actress and one of the most famous women in the world in the 1970s – but admits she can no longer fit into her tiny Wonder Woman costume!
“Wearing it still makes me feel like a total badass,” Lynda reveals from her home in Maryland, US, where she has lived for the past 30 years since taking a step back from Hollywood to focus on her family and her music career.
“I think there’s a certain association between a superhero and her costume or accessories and that makes the bracelets so appealing. Here’s the secret though – it was never about the bracelets. The power of Wonder Woman lies within every woman and girl who dares to be bold and brave in this world.”
Lynda, who turned 70 last week, says the secret to the popularity of her Wonder Woman character was that she played the superhero with heart rather than relying on her superhero accessories and incredible powers.
