He put the showjumpers to shame when he headed the class with not only the sole treble clear, but also the fastest round.
“It was very unexpected to be in the third round, let alone win,” said Alex. “She was phenomenal. Her owners were there watching and I think they were kicking their legs nearly as high as the horse.
“She’s always been a very careful horse and from the eventing, she’s athletic and fast. We were first out in the third round and I just thought I had to go fairly fast because the jumps were pretty big.”
