Our drive across Cascade Range started from the picturesque Woodinville town, in the state of Washington, USA, which
is in the midst of conifers, maples, and oaks. On that day, towards the end of June 2022, the sky was blue, snow-white clouds were drifting across, and the sun was bright and warm. Our destination was the Teanaway Community Forest near the town of Cle Elum which is on the east side of the Cascade Range. The mountain slopes, which we crossed on both the sides of the road, were all densely wooded, fall within the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest (6978 sq.km). It had magnificent timber species such as big-leaf maple, Douglas fir, grand fir, red cedar, Western hemlock, and Western larch. Along the sides of the road there were alders, American hazelnut, quaking aspen, and abundant willow trees. The dense forests and high mountains created a favorable cool climate attracting patches of rain clouds which floated in the sky.
