Thinking out of the box requires one to be not only bold but also confident of one's calibre and that is evident when you see Handtex Industries' new commercial establishment in Textile City designed by Studio AVT. The unconventional façade of the building is a beautiful architectural expression, no less! It is developed through reinterpretation of the conventional quilling pattern by glorifying magnitude of fabric rolls and reinvented through perforated and curved metal sheet installation.
CELEBRATING CRAFTSMANSHIP
Conceived as an ode to the ever so talented and hardworking artisans and their craftsmanship, Studio AVT's singular aim for the design of this building was to represent the principles of the company as their identity in the facade of their headquarters. "The concept behind the design of the facade comes from the "hand" of Handtex. Our hands have millions of unique patterns running across, and these patterns, when blended together, form a very beautiful wave like pattern, intertwining with each other. These patterns can be grouped as individual 'fingerprint' patterns, which come out in circular and elliptical shapes," share Ankita Sweety and Pratyoosh Chandan: Cofounders & Directors of Studio AVT when quizzed about the inspiration behind the design.
