When I arrived in England I didn't know how long I would stay, so I bought quality vintage pieces that I knew I would either keep for the love of them or that I'd be able to resell if I decided to go back. I've always loved what some refer to as 'brown furniture' - the patina of life that comes with old things warms my home.
I travelled to Hydra in Greece last year and found a shop that sold the most gorgeous coloured plates. I quickly bought another suitcase and carried the lot back home. The tureen is a recent purchase from La Tuile &agrave; loup, a shop in Paris. The workmanship is stunning and the colour is fabulous. I can't wait to fill it with a hearty stew.
