MILEAGE 5046
WHY WE'RE RUNNING IT Can this B-SUV make a case for petrol power for the near future?
I am enjoying the BMW EV I'm currently running (see right), and its 240-mile range is mostly dandy. But I had a trip to Catalonia coming up, meandering through rural France on my way there but on my journey home driving 830 miles in one day to Caen, and that's a 12-hour schlep before stops, so I persuaded news editor Will Rimell to swap me his petrol Skoda Kamiq.
I can be a worrywart, so I got my paperwork in order, including checking whether I'd need a Crit'Air sticker anywhere.
Like the UK, France is introducing low-emission zones (LEZs), and your car's Euro emissions level dictates what sticker it's eligible for and in turn whether it's allowed into certain cities.
