Into the premium inter-city bus segment, NueGo wants to become a national player. Prateek Pardeshi looks at the on-road value additions.

Long-distance coaches have evolved to a great deal offering aircraft like comforts on board. From the deluxe 4x2 editions with AV setup as value adds to the Volvo’s and Scania’s of the world. The premium coaches are an owner’s pride and help both the STUs and fleet operators justify the price tag. Even as fleets turn green, the definition of luxury travel remains rather subjective. Some call an ebus premium others offer tangible luxury. Players like NueGo are setting new benchmarks and a clear demarcation in the competitive segment. One of the highlights which sets NueGo apart is the inter city capability on an ebus with a range capability of 250 km on a single charge. The company also boasts of intra-city travel within its multiple State Transport Undertakings (STUs) tie ups. Devndra Chawla, Chief Executive Officer, of GreenCell Mobility mentioned,“In cars, there’s an Uber, Ola, which is of national scale, or if you take flights, Indigo, Vistara, they’re national. But in the bus segment, there’s no national brand. We are aiming to become a national player.”
