The Carry brand has existed for over four decades globally. Its roots can be traced to 1976 when the first Carry is known to have been exported out of Japan. The brand spread its tentacles to neighbouring countries including the South East Asia where it continues to be favoured by transporters. Spotting a Carry going through its duty cycles in Jakarta, Indonesia needs no divine intervention. In India, the Carry was first introduced in September 2016. The scenario is no different in India where the numbers continue to grow for the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL). The India make of Carry, however, stands out with perhaps the same ethos but a distinct geometry. At places, the global Suzuki Carry is both a workhorse and at places exudes a more premium DNA compared to the Maruti Suzuki Super Carry made available to Indian transporters. The go-to-market strategy finds favour hinting at a perfect match.
