TM revamped its 390 Adventure portfolio and added a new base, no-frills variant. The new KTM 390 Adventure X is promising. It cuts clutter and offers you the same adventure motorcycle in a distilled form and at a lower price point, a whopping ₹ 58,000 less than the standard 390 Adventure variant and ₹ 80,000 less than the top-spec 390 Adventure SW.
On paper, it misses quite a bit of kit. The more significant ones are rider aids such as traction control, ride modes, quickshifter and cornering ABS (Offroad ABS remains). If you are a seasoned rider, it shouldn't matter that much. Between the motorcycle's brilliant dynamics and your skillset, do you really need rider aids? That's what I felt, riding the 390 Adventure X down narrow dusty roads and over a rocky riverbed. Stripping down the rider aids have you feel more connected with the motorcycle and revel in both your's and the motorcycle's abilities.
