The Economic Value Study gathered from over 6000 respondents across 800 car clubs nationally, claims there are an estimated 970,000 historic vehicles in Australia with owners spending approximately $10,240 per vehicle per year, equating to more than $9.9 billion annually.

The survey also shows the sector creates almost 79,000 jobs 42,000 direct and 37,000 indirect, with these jobs generating $6.2 billion in wages and salaries annually.

According to the AMHF: "In carrying out this study, we have shown the historic vehicle movement is a large and vibrant part of Australia's society and economy."

The survey points out enthusiast owners of historic vehicles in Australia spend on average, around 12.5 per cent more annually than people who own daily-driven cars. The historic vehicle fleet represents 4.4 per cent of Australia's 21 million total-vehicle fleet.
