HERE'S A SURPRISING fact for you: Kia has sold more cars in the UK this year than any brand apart from Ford. Yes, more than Vauxhall. More than Toyota. And more even than Volkswagen.
And that's with a line-up that's thoroughly sensible. Sure, many of Kia's latest models look sharp and modern, but they're underpinned by pragmatic things like a practical interior, competitive pricing and a long warranty. To be blunt, there isn't a whole lot about them to get proper enthusiasts excited.
The EV6 GT could be about to change that, though. Okay, diehard petrolheads will doubtless bemoan the absence of an engine under the bonnet, but Porsche and Tesla have proved that electric cars needn't be boring runarounds for the pious. They can certainly be fast and some are even great fun in corners.
'Fast' doesn't really convey how the EV6 GT builds speed, though. It has two huge electric motors - one driving the front wheels and the other turning the rears - that together produce 577bhp. That's more power than a Porsche 911 Turbo and means the GT can blast from 0-62mph in a staggering 3.5sec.
