Star Air is entering its fourth year of operations in 2023. What have been the company's major milestones till date?
Star Air Has been consistently growing since its inception in 2019. The airline was born out of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS), popularly known as UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, a regional airport development programme of the Government of India and part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme of upgrading under-serviced air routes. It was introduced to make air travel affordable and improve economic development in India. We completed four years of operations on January 25, 2023. In these four years, we have had the opportunity to operate more than 16,500+ flights carrying 5,88,128 passengers across 18 destinations in India. Star Air played a crucial role during the Covid-19 pandemic to transport vaccines and other essential supplies free of cost. In July 2022, we got approval for in-house Level-3 training on Embraer 135/145. We have been conferred with various recognitions and awards that motivate us to aim higher.
Some notable ones are:
- Champion of UDAN-2021.
- Best Domestic Airline (RCS) at Wings India-2022.
- Best Regional Airline at ASSOCHAM 14th International Civil Aviation Conference & Awards-2022
