Powering the Future: Opportunities in Green Stocks

The world stands at a crossroads. Climate change looms large, demanding a shift towards cleaner more sustainable energy sources. Green energy, encompassing renewable resources like solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal power, has emerged as the beacon of hope in this scenario. This transition presents not just an environmental imperative, but also a significant economic opportunity, and green energy stocks are increasingly capturing the attention of investors worldwide.

Sources of Greenhouse Gas Emission

According to International Energy Agency, 2022 report fossil fuels for electricity generation account for 25 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions. It contributes significantly to air pollution, especially in regions reliant on coal-fired power plants.

Another main source of greenhouse gas emissions is vehicles from a bike to aircraft and ships all majorly work on fossil fuels like petrol and diesel. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency vehicles contribute 29 per cent of total greenhouse gas emissions. This translates to a significant share of air pollution although exact percentages vary depending on location and specific pollutants.

If we can bring down the usage of fossil fuels in two sectors that is electricity generation and transportation, we can control more than 50 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions and the world will be a better place.
