Lebanese Cuisine Reflection of a Welcoming Culture
Food & Beverage Business Review|April-May 2023
Lebanon is located on the Eastern most shore of the Mediterranean in the Fertile Crescent, where Western civilization is said to have begun. Situated between the East and the West, Lebanon is a culinary and cultural crossroads
Lebanese Cuisine Reflection of a Welcoming Culture

The cuisine of this ancient land is diverse and steeped in history; both the Eastern and Western influences in its cookery are apparent.

Though most of us have never visited Lebanon but there is hardly any food lover who does not know about Lebanese food. Hummus and falafel are well-known internationally while shawarma is widely regarded to be one of the world's most iconic street foods.

The influence that Lebanon has had on the world is totally out of proportion to its size; culinary contributions from this tiny country have had the greatest impact on modern Middle Eastern cuisine. Encompassing a small area on the world map, the people and cuisine of Lebanon are known throughout the world. Lebanese cuisine is a true reflection of its welcoming culture.

Lebanese cuisine truly is a delight to the senses. From the earthy aroma of cumin and tahini to the refreshing pop of sumac, pomegranate, and lemon, Lebanese food takes you on a journey. A journey that starts with the colours, aromas, and textures of mezze and ends with the fragrance of desserts flavoured with rose water and honey. Shawarma and hummus may the most well-known but there's so much more to love about Lebanese cuisine.

Lebanese Cuisine is considered a Mediterranean delicacy consisting of a variety of fresh vegetarian recipes, salads and stews all seasoned with a flavorsome combination of herbs and spices. The Lebanese cuisine is a cuisine of the sun and a cuisine from the heart. Its colours reflect the 1001 sunny Lebanese landscapes, and its diversity evokes the abundant Lebanese generosity and hospitality.
