A Spine-Chilling Cold-Blooded Murder

Just when we are about to believe that we have witnessed the worst thing that could happen, a new excruciating crime pops up in the radar of Indian Society. The crimes in our society never cease to shock and disgust us.

The Mehrauli Murder case has shocked everyone to the bone and sent shivers down the spine. With a piercing on the lip, short hair with side bangs, T-shirts with hoodies and a never-ending smile on her face, she is the best friend anyone could ask for. She had a lot of dreams of setting off on long treks, finding love, moving abroad someday. That was Shraddha, the girl from Vasai, a Mumbai suburb, who is a girl filled with a thousand dreams and a million virtues, even in times of darkness. But she couldn't achieve any of her dreams, unfortunately. Aaftab Poonawala, a 28-year-old food blogger from Mumbai, was arrested on November 11 by Delhi Police for allegedly killing his live-in partner, Shraddha Walker at their flat in Chhatarpur area on May 18.

Shraddha was an independent and a strong woman, who had a strained relationship with her father. She used to work at a call center for a multi-national company to support herself and her family. She met Poonawala on a date, in 2019. They mutually decided to take their relationship to the next level, i.e., Live-in relationship. Despite her parents' objection, she started a live-in relationship and did not keep in touch with her parents. She lost her mother in January 2020 and so, she came to stay with her father and brother for two weeks and then, returned to her rented home. Things weren't going so well between her and Poonawala by then. After her mother's death, she made phone calls to her father to inform about the atrocities by Poonawala.
