Bloodywood, a four-membered band based in Indian Capital, Delhi, wanted to bring Metal Music back to India. They formed and started making music in 2016. Bloodywood began their journey as a "parody band", uploading metal covers of popular Hindi songs on YouTube. Six years on, they have toured about 90 countries, played in some of the most iconic venues - including Wacken Open Air - and have become the first Indian metal act to feature on Billboard charts. They later evolved to creating their own original music. They have cited Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, System of a Down, Alter Bridge, and Limp Bizkit as musical influences.
Before forming the actual band, Karan Katiyar was just making and uploading parody metal covers of popular Bollywood songs on YouTube. But, he had a dissatisfaction with finding a suitable vocalist. Later, at a local gig, he stumbled across Jayant Bhadula, who was working as a talent manager at an entertainment company. Katiyar was pretty impressed by Jayant’s vocals.
