ImPaCCT Foundation of Tata Memorial Centre provides comprehensive support to improve pediatric cancer care and treatment and minimize abandonment rates. The ImPaCCT model designed and employed by the foundation has brought down the pediatric cancer treatment abandonment rate to three percent in 2022 from nearly 25 percent in 2007-08.
ImPaCCT Foundation and Tata Memorial Centre convened a press conference shedding light on pivotal elements of pediatric cancer care in India. Ms Shalini Jatia, Officer-in-Charge of ImPaCCT Foundation, said, “Our mission is to transform lives by spearheading awareness, research, and holistic care.”
Dr Shripad Banavali, Director of Academics at Tata Memorial Centre, highlighted advancements in therapy, stating, “We focus on newer therapies for high-risk pediatric cancers, including Immunotherapy and targeted therapy for brain tumors.”
Dr Girish Chinnaswamy, Head of Department in Paediatric Medical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, said, “Our initiatives aim to improve childhood cancer survival globally to 60 percent through collaborations like the WHO GICC and St Jude Global Alliance.”
