We always honour heroes but this time we chose to honour a villain - a screen villain, that is. In real life, veteran actor Prem Chopra is one of the nicest actors to have around. He is known for his friendly, helpful nature and gentlemanly behaviour. Even on screen, he was known as a villain who never resorted to violence or crudeness to get the point across. His eye expressions were enough to convince the audience of his dastardly ways. Prem Chopra was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award and the emcees, Salman Khan and Maniesh Paul couldn't have enough of him. They pampered the veteran with their affection and insisted he spouts one of his famous lines. As soon as he mouthed the dialogue, the gathering, which had stood up in his honour, gave a thunderous applause to him. Prem Chopra was accompanied on stage by his son-in-law, Sharman Joshi, who took utmost care of his comfort. It was nice to witness the loveable bond they shared. Also, almost every big or small celebrity reached out to the veteran to seek his blessings. They say the industry is one big happy family and it's the gestures like these which bring about the truth of the adage. Prem Chopra hasn't forgotten how to pose and was quick to grasp his cues during our trophy photoshoot backstage.

Women's era
Kiran Rao, Payal Kapadia and Shuchi Talati are redefining contemporary Indian cinema by placing women at the centre of their narratives, offering a refreshing perspective through the female gaze. Their films, Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine As Light, and Girls Will Be Girls, not only explore women-oriented stories but also challenge the traditional male-dominated lens of storytelling, creating nuanced portrayals of women's experiences, aspirations and struggles.
