Is there a thing Kareena Kapoor Khan can't do? She's an ace actor, wife, mother, brand ambassador and has been successful as a chat show host as well. Her four seasons as a host on Mirchi's show, What Women Want, has seen her interviewing everyone from successful women from film, sports and corporate arenas. Lately, the show has had male guests too, making it more varied and interesting in the process. In a free-wheeling interview, the actor talks about her learnings from the show...
What inspired you to become the host on What Women Want?
We’re into the fourth season. It’s been such a fun and popular show among all the women and among all its listeners. We have a lot of men on the show as well, who are talking about parenting and fatherhood. We talk to different women from different walks of life. We’ve had Ranbir Kapoor and Shefali Shah; we’ve had influencers and digital content creators, people who’ve made a difference, who want to come and share their thoughts.

Women's era
Kiran Rao, Payal Kapadia and Shuchi Talati are redefining contemporary Indian cinema by placing women at the centre of their narratives, offering a refreshing perspective through the female gaze. Their films, Laapataa Ladies, All We Imagine As Light, and Girls Will Be Girls, not only explore women-oriented stories but also challenge the traditional male-dominated lens of storytelling, creating nuanced portrayals of women's experiences, aspirations and struggles.
