The awards ceremony shone a spotlight on outstanding talent across various categories. Abhijit Das' stellar portrayal in Tora's Husband earned him the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male), while emcee Aimee Boruah's captivating performance in Rongatapu 1982 secured her the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Female), trophy adding yet another feather to her illustrious cap.
Fellow emcee Kopil Bora was happy for his colleague and teased her that his presence on the podium proved to be lucky for her. Abhijit Das came on the sets carrying his child costars from the film, claiming that they were as deserving of the award as he was, as their performance fuelled him to give his best to the film. It was an emotional moment alright when he called up everyone associated with the film to join him on the stage.
