THE PLANET MARATHI PRESENTS FILMFARE AWARDS MARATHI 2022 WERE HELD AT THE MAHAKAVI KALIDAS NATYA MANDIR, SITUATED AT MUMBAI'S MULUND SUBURB. The who's who of Marathi industry made a beeline for the event.
The Lifetime Achievement Award is our most prestigious award and this year it went to ace filmmaker Jabbar Patel, who has made thought-provoking films not only in Marathi but in Hindi as well. He reflected on his long association with Filmfare in his speech.
"I thank everyone present here and the film fraternity and those who helped me in my film journey. It is after a long time that I received the Filmfare. I remember, earlier Marathi and Hindi Filmfare were together and at that time I had received awards for various Marathi films like Jait Re Jait, Samna, Umbartha, Sinhasan, and after that, I am getting it now," he said. He mentioned that this doesn't mean his career has ended and assured the audience he’s very much active.
He bridged the past and the present in his speech, and coincidentally, that was the theme picked up by our emcees, Siddharth Jadhav and Amey Wagh, who kept a running commentary going on the past glories as well as the present achievements in Marathi cinema. They even went across to the audience and asked past and present stars their views on the same.
Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male), Prasad Oak, who won the trophy for his powerhouse performance in Dharamveer, looked dapper in an Indo-Western combination. He dedicated the award to the memory of Anand Dighe, the late leader he had brought to life in the film.
